Prices vary slightly by instructor and area. If you're outside our usual patch we'll tell you before you book rather than adding a travel charge afterwards.

What will the whole licence actually cost you?
Lessons are only part of it. The State takes its share too, and most learners are surprised by the total. Set the sliders to your situation and see the honest number.
Which lesson package?
EDT is the legal minimum, not the amount of practice most people need. Learners who pass first time have usually had a good deal more time behind the wheel than 12 hours, whether that's paid lessons or practice with a qualified accompanying driver.

These go to the RSA and NDLS, not to us. Untick anything you've already paid for. Fees are the official rates in force since 1 January 2025.
One thing the calculator can't price in: failing. A second attempt means another €85 test fee, another car hire if you use ours, and the wait for a new date on top. That's the arithmetic behind preparing properly the first time, and we've set it out in full on what failing the test really costs.

Paying and cancelling
Payment is normally due before or at the start of each lesson or block, and terms are confirmed when we confirm the booking. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead and there's no charge. Inside 24 hours, or a no-show, may be charged at the full rate. If we cancel, for instructor availability, a vehicle issue or unsafe weather, you're not charged. Full detail in our terms.

How much do driving lessons cost in Dublin?
With us a single lesson starts at €50. The full 12-lesson EDT package is €550, which works out cheaper per lesson than booking one at a time. The reduced six-lesson EDT programme is €280. Prices vary a little by instructor and area.
Do I have to pay for all 12 lessons up front?
No. You can pay per lesson as you go at €50, or take the package at €550 and save. Plenty of people start with a single lesson to see how they get on with the instructor before committing to anything.
What does it cost in total to get a driving licence in Ireland?
Beyond lessons there are fixed State fees: €45 for the theory test, €45 for the learner permit, €85 for the driving test and €65 for the first full licence. Add the 12 EDT lessons and most learners land somewhere between €800 and €1,100 all in, depending on how much extra practice they need. The calculator above works out your own figure.
Are there hidden extras?
No. Pickup and drop-off inside our covered areas is included in the lesson price, the EDT logbook entries are included, and there is no booking fee or registration fee. The only things you pay on top are the State fees, which go to the RSA and NDLS rather than to us.
What happens if I cancel a lesson?
Cancel at least 24 hours before the lesson and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours, or a no-show, may be charged at the full lesson rate. If we have to cancel, for instructor availability, a vehicle problem or unsafe weather, you are not charged.
Why is the test car hire a separate charge?
Because not everyone needs it. If you're testing in your own car you shouldn't be paying towards ours. The €170 covers the insured dual-controlled car for your test slot and the warm-up drive beforehand, which matters more than people expect: arriving cold to a test rarely goes well.
Is there a discount for booking with a friend or sibling?
Ask us. We don't advertise a fixed family rate because circumstances differ, but if two people in the same house are learning at the same time it's worth a conversation before you book.
Are your prices higher than the cheapest school in the area?
Sometimes, yes. What you're paying for is instructors who know your specific test centre's routes, structured lessons rather than driving around until the hour is up, and a written record of what to work on afterwards. If price is the only thing that matters you'll find cheaper. If passing first time matters, the arithmetic usually favours doing it properly, because a re-test costs €85 plus the wait.
Can I get an invoice for company or fleet training?
Yes. Fleet and company work is quoted and invoiced normally. Tell us the number of drivers and what you need covered and we'll come back with a figure. Start on the fleet training page.
